My son and I just spent a few days in Olive Hill, Kentucky at Carter Caves State Resort Park. The weather had finally turned comfortable again, so I had a blast. Got to do hiking, canoeing, and caving, and joined a craft class to make walking sticks out of tobacco poles. That stick got a lot of work the next day. What a lot of fun!
The landscape in the park and on the the trails is so gorgeous. This is where Morgan was climbing a huge rock that had separated from the cliff. The bottom photo is along the road leading into the park.
We ended up staying at the lodge instead of camping because we didn't really had the time to set up and take down a camp. The lodge was great, though, and having a balcony facing the woods provided a very comfortable and serene place to relax.
More scenes from the trails. We only went on some of the shorter trails because of time issues and so much to do. Of course, now we have to go back so see some more sights.
